About Oak & Ivy
Oak & Ivy is a London-based coaching service that supports secondary and post-secondary students in developing the skills they need to thrive academically and personally. We specialize in executive function and academic coaching, helping students build structure, resilience, and independence—without the pressure of tutoring or therapy.
What makes Oak & Ivy different is our holistic, relationship-based approach. We don’t just focus on schoolwork—we focus on the student as a whole. Our coaching model is grounded in four key areas:

-
Root: Building routines, organisation, and time management
-
Reflect: Strengthening emotional regulation and self-awareness
-
Rise: Developing self-advocacy and communication skills
-
Reach: Cultivating long-term planning and motivation
Each coaching relationship is bespoke—tailored to the student’s needs, learning style, and personal goals. Whether in-person or virtual, our sessions offer a consistent, warm, and structured space where students can grow.
We also recognise the critical role that parents play in a student’s success. That’s why Oak & Ivy offers parent coaching as an optional add-on, designed to align home routines with coaching goals, improve communication, and empower families with strategies that support long-term growth.
Oak & Ivy was founded on the belief that every student has the capacity to succeed—when given the right tools, guidance, and trust. We’re here to provide that foundation.

Who We Serve
At Oak & Ivy, we work secondary and post-secondary students who are motivated to grow—but may need support building the skills and systems to get there. Our students include those who want to improve their academic performance, manage their time more effectively, or feel more confident and in control of their learning. We also serve students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, learning disabilities, mild autism and other learning challenges. Some may already have a diagnosis or school-based support plan; others may simply benefit from a structured, strengths-based approach to organisation, planning, and emotional regulation. No matter their starting point, we help students build clarity, consistency, and confidence—both in and out of the classroom.
At Oak & Ivy, our coaching is rooted in a characteristics-based approach that focuses on each student’s unique learning profile—not just their diagnosis. Our team is trained to recognise and support key executive functioning traits such as organisation, time management, emotional regulation, and flexibility.
We integrate several evidence-based frameworks to guide our work:

-
Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS): We work with students to solve challenges together, addressing lagging skills with empathy and structure.
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI): Coaches use open-ended questions and reflective listening to build student ownership and motivation.
-
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Our strategies are flexible and inclusive, supporting a wide range of learning needs through multiple pathways for engagement and success.

This integrated model allows us to support the whole child—academically, emotionally, and developmentally.

Our Approach
At Oak & Ivy, we take a whole-child approach to academic and executive function coaching. We recognise that success in school is not just about completing homework—it's about building routines, managing emotions, developing independence, and staying motivated. Our coaching is personalised, relational, and rooted in evidence-based strategies that support each student’s unique learning profile. By addressing both the academic and emotional aspects of learning, we help students grow into confident, capable learners for life.

Root is where structure begins. In this area, students learn to build reliable routines, organise their materials, manage their time, and break down tasks into manageable steps. Coaches guide students in developing systems that support independence—like using planners, prioritising work, and creating effective study habits. By helping students “put down roots,” we create the foundation for stability, predictability, and long-term academic growth.
Reflect focuses on emotional awareness, regulation, and self-understanding. In this area, students learn to recognise how emotions impact their learning, identify stressors, and apply strategies to manage anxiety, frustration, and overwhelm. Coaches support students in developing healthy habits and a balanced routine—including sleep, screen time, exercise, and downtime. Reflect helps students build resilience and confidence, giving them the tools to navigate challenges with greater clarity and control.

Rise is about building self-advocacy, communication, and interpersonal skills. In this domain, students learn how to speak up for themselves, ask for help, manage group work, and navigate social and academic expectations with confidence. Coaches help students develop their voice, practise communication strategies, and engage more actively in their own learning journey. Rise empowers students to take ownership and feel more in control of their school experience.
Reach focuses on long-term planning, motivation, and self-determination. In this domain, students set meaningful goals and learn how to break them into achievable steps. Coaches support them in developing future-oriented thinking—whether planning for exams, transitions, or life beyond school. Through Reach, students strengthen their sense of purpose, build persistence, and begin to see themselves as capable of shaping their own path forward.
